LTF Summer Charity Rides Raise $80,000.00
The Lana Turner Foundation is heating up summer with a series of charity rides and events designed to help raise money for children’s cancer research and family support.
Blackberry Smoke drummer Brit Turner, his brother and bass player, Richard want to add the rumble of motorcycles to the official sounds of summer – and it’s all for a good cause. The Lana Turner Foundation – started by the two brothers to raise money for children’s cancer research is taking off. With two major rides this summer already, the foundation already has some key successes under its belt and donations have already resulted in over $80,000 in donations to the children’s charity.
The first ride featured over 200 riders departing from 5 locations around the city of Atlanta, meeting at Live! at the Battery Atlanta -the home of World Series champs, the Atlanta Braves for a full day of live music, raffles and family fun. The event featured the two brothers riding along with their fans and fellow motorcyclists.
Following on from the Atlanta ride, the second ride took place at Smoky Mountain Harley-Davidson & The Shed Smokehouse & Juke Joint in Maryville Tennessee, and featured over 100 riders and a tour through some of the south’s most beautiful riding terrain.
